CARE with MWO
“(The righteous are those) who feed the poor, the orphan and the captive for the love of God, saying: ‘We feed you for the sake of God Alone; we seek from you neither reward nor thanks.”
Give the Gift of CARE
CARE is not a one-time drive. CARE is a system our community has relied on for over a decade.
Every Ramadan, CARE shows up for Muslim women who are carrying too much already. Grocery prices go up. Bills don’t pause. Kids still need clothes. Eid still comes. CARE exists so women aren’t left trying to make miracles out of nothing.
Since 2012, CARE has provided direct, culturally competent support to Muslim families across Central Florida. What makes CARE different is simple: women choose. They choose their groceries. They choose their Eid clothes. They choose what their children need. No boxes. No assumptions. No loss of dignity.
CARE supports primarily women-led households — single mothers, caregivers, survivors, immigrants, women navigating disability, grief, or instability. Many don’t qualify for government aid. Others can’t safely access it. CARE fills the gaps that everyone else misses, especially during Ramadan and Eid, when food, clothing, and joy are not optional extras — they are part of faith.
Here’s what CARE actually does:
It puts halal groceries on the table all month by providing gift certificates to local halal stores.
It makes Eid joyous for kids who would otherwise feel left out by providing them with Eid gifts their moms choose.
It gives women breathing room during a sacred time by providing gift cards to prepare for Eid.
It does this quietly, locally, and with amanah.
Families trust CARE because it doesn’t disappear. It has adapted over the years, moving from mass distributions to individualized support so aid could be more meaningful and more respectful. CARE is why women come back year after year — not because asking is easy, but because CARE gets it right.
In 2026, CARE will support 200 women and roughly 400 children. That’s 200 households entering Ramadan with less stress and 400 kids experiencing Eid with joy.
If you’re giving zakat this Ramadan, CARE is where it belongs. All designated zakat goes directly to verified, eligible families. Every dollar stays in the community. Every contribution sustains a program that has been holding people up for over a decade.
CARE isn’t symbolic. CARE is practical. CARE works.
